Responsibilities

• Conduct research experiments to develop product separation and purification processes from fermentation broth, and assess the different aspects of processes at various scales;
• Support process scale-up and tech transfer activities in pilot plant and commercial manufacturing sites;
• Prepare/review technical documents, including process development reports and tech transfer documents;
• Manage internal lab instruments and draft SOPs.

Requirements

• B.S. or above in Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry or related majors;
• At least three years of experience in downstream isolation, separation and purification of fermentation metabolites, peptides, and proteins;
• Subject matter expertise in downstream process development and process scale-up/scale-down;
• Comprehensive knowledge of Membrane Filtration Equipment and downstream process techniques, including low-pressure column chromatography, medium-pressure column chromatography, desalination and recrystallization;
• Excellent communication skills and team-work oriented.
